Gas to energy

Because of US EPA rules requiring gas collection for many of the nation's public and private municipal solid waste landfills, and because of rising natural gas prices and a market  for “green” or renewable energy sources, such as landfill gas, the need to collect the gas generated by the existing and future solid waste and construct a gas-to-energy facility is growing.  ARCADIS can help you meet the new regulations and construct ‘green’ facilities.

Our systems are designed to use nearly all of the collected gas for energy.  To maintain a steady supply of gas and to maintain gas destruction during periods of maintenance, a flare facility will be constructed to burn off excess or  peak gas flows.  We plan the facilities to be able to grow as the landfill grows and supply long-term energy for municipalities and industries.  We work with the local and regional governmental agencies to design a facility that will meet current and future needs.
