$50 million WWTP Upgrade

Carrboro, NC

This $50 million project includes program management services for the upgrade and expansion of the Orange Water and Sewer Authority (OWASA) Mason Farm Wastewater Treatment Plant as part of the OWASA capital improvement program. The upgrade to 14.5 mgd includes modifications to every existing treatment facet of the plant and construction of new facilities to upgrade and expand plant operation. The plant is site-limited sitting along side Morgan Creek and a botanical garden. All work is being completed with the plant in operation and meeting regulatory standards. The three year construction contract includes an early completion milestone with a bonus incentive for the filter, switchgear and generator buildings, four digesters and one fermenter.
