Houston, Texas – Feb. 15, 2007 – ARCADIS (NASDAQ: ARCAF, EURONEXT: ARCAD) is pleased to announce that Sanjay Ramabhadran has been appointed to the City of Houston Building and Standards Commission.
Ramabhadran serves as Principal-In-Charge and business practice manager in the ARCADIS Infrastructure Division for the South Plains which includes Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas. He was appointed to the Commission by the City of Houston Council at the recommendation of Houston’s Mayor, Bill White, for a term that expires December 31, 2007. The Commission renders decisions about the abatement of substandard structures within city limits. Commission members hear cases and may issue an order to vacate, repair, demolish, secure, and/or issue penalties.
“Sanjay’s contributions to Commission deliberations will be based on sound engineering and years of local and state-wide experience,” stated Bill Kallas, ARCADIS Senior Vice President. “He demonstrates excellence in all of his undertakings and is highly knowledgeable of local and state code requirements.”
Sanjay Ramabhadran, P.E., has been responsible for master planning, feasibility studies, design and construction administration of numerous water and wastewater systems (1 – 160 Million Gallons/Day) for cities ranging in population from 45,000 to 3 million. He has provided professional engineering services to the industrial, commercial and governmental market segments. He has served as a steering committee member for the American Society Civil Engineers International Pipeline Conference and was an invited speaker to the US-India summit on infrastructure. His experience includes major wastewater treatment projects on the $1.2 billion Greater Houston Wastewater Program, water pump stations on the Houston surface water transmission program, large diameter sewer rehabilitation programs and odor and corrosion control programs. He holds a Masters of Science degree from Texas A&M University.
