Port of Long Beach Retains ARCADIS for $1.2 Million Water Quality and Wildlife Contract
Los Angeles, Calif. – Dec. 4, 2007 - ARCADIS (EURONEXT: ARCAD), the international consulting and engineering company, today announced that ARCADIS has won a multi-year support contract with the Port of Long Beach. The three-year contract for on-call water quality and wildlife services is valued at $1.2M.

Always geared to protect the most critical natural areas of the world, ARCADIS will support the Port of Long Beachs’ efforts to develop its Green Port Initiative. Additional services include new water quality studies, developing innovative approaches to stormwater issues, and addressing an increasingly important wildlife aspect in support of maintenance dredging and new development at the Port of Long Beach.

“Leading the way for over 20-years the Port of Long Beach continues to actively demonstrate their commitment to environmental programs,” said Dr. Paul Krause, Principal Ecologist at ARCADIS. “ARCADIS is pleased to extend our global knowledge to enhance environmentally friendly port operations for this vital port.”

One important aspect of this contract will be helping the support the Port of Long Beach with understanding and dealing with new regulations in response to invasive species found in ship ballast water. The ARCADIS dive team will also be busy performing subtidal surveys for exotic species prior to dredging activities. With this win and our existing environmental support work for the Port of Los Angeles, ARCADIS now provides services to the largest port complex on the west coast.
