Chinese Academy of Science invites Dr. Dong to China to discuss biofuels  
 
Raleigh, N.C., –  Sept. 19, 2007 - ARCADIS (EURONEXT: ARCAD), the international consulting and engineering company, today announced that Dr. Yuanji Dong of the Global Advisory Services group in Durham, North Carolina, was invited to give a speech at the Bioenergy Conference in Qingdao, organized by the Chinese Academy of Science. The Bioenergy conference begins today and runs through Sept. 19, 2007 in Qingdao, China.

In addition to addressing the conference, Dong will visit energy efficiency and climate change related research centers in China. Dong's itinerary will include a visit with Prof. Wennan Zhang of the Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess and with Prof. Jinghai Li, Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Science. While in China, Dong will also visit an ARCADIS office located in Pudong New Area in Shanghai. He will discuss synergies between GAS practice activities in the U.S. and activities in China with particular emphasis on US-funded joint projects in the area of climate change and energy efficiency.

At ARCADIS Dong works with industrial and federal clients on projects in the area of energy efficiency and biofuels. Dong's project portfolio includes biomass and solid waste gasification, biofuel production, and energy efficiency as related to animal husbandry and greenhouse operations both domestically and internationally. He also holds three patents on biofuel production from biomass and has published more than thirty papers.
