Anwar Zahid, PhD, PE Joins ARCADIS as Principal Engineer in New Orleans  
 
Baton Rouge, La. – Oct. 3, 2007 - ARCADIS (EURONEXT: ARCAD), the international consulting and engineering company, today announced that Anwar Zahid, PhD, PE, has joined our Baton Rouge, Louisiana, office as a principal engineer.

In his new position, Zahid will be supporting the rebuilding efforts in New Orleans through our U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Contract with the New Orleans District Hurricane Protection Office. He will also assist in the growth of the local infrastructure practice by utilizing both his technical and project management background.

With over ten years experience as a structural engineer, Zahid has concentrated on the analysis and design of a wide array of structures ranging from standard prestressed girder to steel plate girder bridges, retaining walls and overhead sign structures. A noted expert in wave propagation, Zahid developed analytical tools for wave propagation analysis and along with extensive research has authored numerous papers on the subject.

Prior to joining ARCADIS, Zahid was with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., of West Palm Beach, Florida. He served as structural task manager for the Boynton Beach to Lantana project of Florida’s Turnpike.
