ARCADIS was selected for the outstanding achievement award for the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Pedestrian Bridges project along with two honor awards for the city of Toledo's Wet Weather Treatment Facilities project and the city of Mason's Water Reclamation Plant Improvements project.

The Towpath Trail is part of the Ohio & Erie Canal National Heritage Corridor, providing a series of hike-and-bike greenways that generally follow the route of the old Ohio & Erie Canal. To date, about 70 of the 110 miles of trail have been constructed. A major component of the Toledo Waterways Initiative, the city of Toledo's response to long-standing contamination problem of the area's three major watercourses – Swan Creek and the Ottawa and Maumee Rivers – was construction of a wet weather treatment facility. The city of Mason's new water reclamation plant utilizes emerging technologies in the municipal wastewater treatment field that includes a biological nutrient removal process, high efficiency variable vane blowers, centrifuge dewatering and an indirect thermal biosolids dryer.
