The name ARCADIS is derived from Arcadia, according to Greek mythology the finest place to live on earth. It represents our aim to work systematically with clients to create a better environment for people to live and work in.

Our symbol

And, combined with the name ARCADIS is our symbol: the salamander. The salamander, equally at home on land or in the water, symbolizes lasting quality and ecological balance in the environment.

The right balance           

We are the first global provider to integrate environmental services with physical infrastructure. These may at times appear to be opposed - after all, you can't build anywhere on earth without making an impact on the environment.
